Dear colleagues, the next ASSFTS (Atmospheric Science from Space using Fourier Transform Spectrometry) workshop - ASSFTS 11 - will take place in the Black Forest in Germany from 8th to 10th of October, 2003. Main topics of this workshop will be: 1) Retrieval techniques, 2) Calibration and validation, and, in addition, 3) First results of MIPAS on ENVISAT. However, as always, contributions on all relevant topics are welcome. We would further like to remind you that the primary medium for contributions is the poster. Oral presentations will be limited to 1) the usual programmatic overviews of on-going and future instruments 2) some invited talks on the themes and 3) those contributions that are deemed to be incompatible with a poster format (e.g. movies). We are a bit late with the organisation but we were very busy over more than half a year with respect to an evaluation of a big research programme of several german research centers. Because we are not sure if our listing of e-mail addresses is correct and complete, it would be very helpful if you respond to this e-mail at your earliest convenience. Please forward this e-mail to all colleagues who might be interested. We would appreciate if you could already inform us about your attendance. If you are not intending to participate in this workshop, please respond to us, too. In this case we shall cancel your e-mail address from our listing in order not to bother you with further announcements. Please send your responses to Ms Sylvia Kellmann who will assist with organizing the workshop . More detailed information will follow soon, and a web site will be set up. Best wishes, H. Fischer G.
